Pure-Easy—What should be considered when using paper labels during the rainy season?

1. 1.Store in a warehouse with a temperature of 22±2℃ and relative humidity of 50%±5%. Keep self-adhesive labels in a dry environment to avoid issues like glue seepage, dampness, and curling due to high temperature and humidity. 

2. 2.Sealed Packaging: Self-adhesive labels should be sealed in plastic film packaging. After each use, reseal the package properly.

3. 3.Storing Large Rolls: Place wooden boards under large rolls and store them vertically.

4. 4.Pallet Storage: When stacking on pallets, put a clean plastic sheet on the pallet first. Stack similar products together and avoid placing large rolls on top of small rolls. Do not stack too high.

5. 5.Distance from Walls: Keep a distance from the walls when stacking to avoid direct exposure to doorways.

6. 6.Separate Storage Area: Store self-adhesive labels separately from other chemicals.

Case 1: Self-Adhesive Labels Wrinkling on Wine Bottles 

A  winery experienced a situation where self-adhesive labels made of coated paper were applied to wine bottles. The labels looked fine initially, but after 24 hours, they started to wrinkle. Over time, the wrinkling on the bottles became more severe.Analysis: During the rainy season, the humidity in the customer's workshop was high. The self-adhesive labels were kept sealed in plastic bags before use. The difference in moisture content between the labels and the workshop environment was significant. After application, the labels quickly absorbed moisture and expanded, causing them to wrinkle.

Case 2: Self-Adhesive Labels Wrinkling on Corrugated Boxes

Labels applied to corrugated boxes began to wrinkle 24 hours after application.

Analysis:The labels were packed in plastic bags when they arrived, but the corrugated boxes provided by the printing factory had no outer packaging. Although both were stored in the same warehouse, there was no humidity control during the rainy season. The boxes absorbed moisture more easily than the labels.The boxes had a high moisture content. When "dry" labels were applied to "moist" corrugated boxes, the labels absorbed moisture over time, causing them to wrinkle.Additionally, as the moist boxes dried out, their size shrank, which also led to the labels wrinkling.

Solutions

1. Strengthen Temperature and Humidity Control in the Workshop：The ideal storage temperature for labels is between 20-25℃, with a relative humidity of 45-55%. To produce high-quality products, companies need to control the temperature and humidity in their workshops effectively to solve this issue fundamentally.
